Black Sheath

Spring is in the air! Here in Boston, we’ve had a very mild winter, and now we are seeing some really nice days, mixed in with some cold ones. Fortunately, I was able to get out, and enjoy the weather a little bit!
work wear, office wear, banana republic sheath, tall girl style
Banana Republic has been one of my go-tos for tall apparel for about 8 years now. When I finished  undergrad in 2008, I needed to put together a professional wardrobe, and found it challenging, given my height. Banana was one of the first brands – that I know of – to make suits and dresses in lengths that were comfortable and professional. I, particularly, love this one from this season. It is so flattering, especially for someone with hips! I really love how the top goes out, beyond the shoulder, to give it structure and a nice shape.

These earrings are a new addition to my collection. I just picked these up from Tuckernuck for just $25! I love tortoise shell anything, and these add a simple and sophisticated touch.

This new Tory Burch Thea Satchel is my main bag right now. It’s the perfect size and shape, and I love the subtlety of the logo. And my Boden heels are from last year, but still a constant in my wardrobe. They are classic with a little twist.

Pink & Teal

nordstrom, smashbox lipstick in publicist, brown hair, beachwaver curls

I’ve always loved teal accessories. The color goes so well with basic white and black, and it matches really nicely with my eye color. I really love all blues and greens, but besides navy, this is my favorite to wear. And, recently, I’ve fallen in love with bright pink lipstick, and I can’t stop pairing the two. Here, I’m wearing Smashbox matte lipstick in Publicist, and these beautiful, round earrings a friend gave me for my birthday last year. I also added another touch of pink with my nail color, which is OPI Can You Spare a French Quarter from the New Orleans Collection.

Another current obsession of mine are these faux leather leggings. They are from Nordstrom, and they have become a constant in life. They are so comfortable and flattering, and long enough for me at 5’11”. And, they won’t break the bank with their $28 price tag. A MUST buy! I bought two pair!
Nordstrom booties, black on black, Nordstrom style

My top and booties are also from Nordstrom. I love the style and shape of this blouse, and the booties are very cute and comfortable. I have no issues walking around the city in them all day!

And to round out this outfit, the only other accessories I added were my Michael Kors watch and this black, leather clutch that I purchased from Ann Taylor a couple years ago. Sometimes less is more!

Today, I wanted to share something fun and different – a travel post! So many beautiful, tropical pictures have flooded my newsfeed lately, which has inspired me to write about somewhere that is near and dear to my heart – Turks and Caicos. This is where Eric and I went on our honeymoon, and if you haven’t been, you should go! We stayed on Grace Bay, which is an area on the island named Providenciales. This area is pristine, safe, clean, and tranquil. If you are looking to get away, unplug, and relax, this is the place for you!
